Marijuana and heroin are sold to people in America, so I don't think that goldfish being sold in China is a big deal. Confucius would feel the same way. American drug dealers are the problem, not goldfish.

Confucianism doesn't say anything about animal rights but most of the civilized world would find the practice disgusting and sadist.
