Would you live in China or Congo?
Congo is a demoratic state, China is communist. Congo is Capitalist, China is socialist. Both are equally poor. But Congo is much cleaner than China (pollution wise) China abuses animals and human right, Congo does not. So which would you choose?

China There are about 50,000 deaths a month in the Congo from famine and disease. China is polluted because it is industrialised and has access to medicine. Also there was just a war in the congo in which 5 million people died. socialism isnt thought of as an evil thing outside the United states

Having worked for short spells in both, China wins hands down. The Chinese have the ability to think, something to which the Congolese haven't yet fully evolved. (Wonder if the moderators will remove experience and honesty in the name of racism?)

You're response it too biased. You obviously have NEVER been to both countries, so I suggest you don't talk sh*t about one of them. Yes, China has a communist government, but it's a combination of democratic beliefs and communist beliefs. Is China like North Korea? They are a part of the UN and also the #1 Tourist Destination in Asia. If China's government is really as bad as you stated, then clearly the nation wouldn't be the most visited country in Asia. Do you not know that MANY African Immigrants reside in China? These Africans woud rather live in China than their native country. China is NOT Socialist! It's actually capitalist! Hello, where have you been? China has a capitalist economy the past 25 years! Do you think they'd have the 2nd largest economy it it was still Socialist? You must still be living in a bubble to make such stupid assumption. China is one of the world's economic superpower. BTW, Yes China has huge pollution problems, but America's pollution is as bad. Seriously, you must've never been to NYC. Every country abuses animals. Get over it and stop making it such a big deal. Considering the fact that China is A LOT safer and richer than Congo, I'd pick China any day. China's cities are much more modern and it's also one of the safest countries in the world. You don't see as many wild animals as you would see in other countries because in the 60's many people starved to death. Because of this they ate anything they could catch so the wild life was greatly reduced.

Just go to a school in the area...I'm sure you've seen one in the area close to where you live...and walk in...ask for the principle's office and just go in...They'll tell you what papers to fill out and what papers to bring...or about immunization(booster shots)...or if you see anyone in the area that speaks your language, then feel free to ask them...

american has an old infrasture crumbling, ugly cities, old bridges that fall off and rusted, New York City is suppose to be the jewel of the USA in terms of beautiful skyline and it pales compared to Beijing or Shanghai or Hong Kong. American has Amtrak that puts along at 50 miles per hour, China has the bullet train that goes 300 miles per hour. China has the single needle expansion bridge, USA does not. What does USA do with all its money it claims to have? why then is it 13 trillion dollars in debt? If China is so poor, why does it have credit surplus in the bank and no debt? Yes, Chinese per capita earns $3000 a year and the American earns $35000 per capita. Americans appear to be rich in statistics but poor in realtiy, they owe everything, they dont' own their car, they don't own their house, everything is on loan. I lived in both countries and I am in paradise in china, USA is a hell hole with people to match, they like to have sex with a bunch of folks married or not, they don't have shame, no humility, they believe in making the mighty dollar and keeping up with the Jones, even when it is all phony. They value "image" and believe "image is everything", to someone like me, a confucious and proud of it, i laugh at the americans and their brainwashed minds, they talk about tibet, human rights, and how communist gov in china is doing wrong to its people, they prove to me, they listen to american medias and through whitemans lenses, what a joke, you white people are so dumb, its laughable. We don't need to be preached about western ways, we laugh at your values and your phony system of government. you say government by the people, and you don't even know that your government answers to the mighty dollar, whoever has it, gets to make the calls. You want proof? OK, the reason that the Single Payer Systems is dead on arrival is because no senator will pass that idea because it means death to the corporate interest namely health insurance companies. As this example show, the citizens of american think they have a say in government when they are just pawns to be plaid by their own government. follow the money, that is the american way. go suckers. Wheres your high speed train, where is your jewel city, why do you still have bums and inner city strife? We commies are proud of our parade and we are successful at socialism with chinese characteristics. It is unique to us, and depends on morals and virtues and what confucious believes in. Paragraphs please, I can't be bothered reading all that crap. I'm not American, nor am I the United States #1 fan... But I can tell you this much: I'd much rather live in the United States than China. I went to China a couple of years ago, we went to Beijing & Xian (or however you spell it), the levels of poverty were extreme! I recall touring around the Forbidden City (amazing place by the way) in which I witnessed a disabled man wheeling himself around on a skate board with one arm. & Xian was ruined, I'd never experienced such a culture shock... It was literally a massive shanty town. I can tell you this much buddy, there are many many many more Chinese living in the USA than there are Americans living in China. China must have the highest levels of emmigration in the world, there's a good reason for that.

What's a good place to live in China?
Have spent the last 10 months in Beijing studying Taichi. Am hoping to come back in about 6 months but am looking for somewhere cheaper and with better air Please give a reason as to why it is a good place to live not just the name of a city

A cheaper place would be in Wuhan, Dalian......however, for southern part of China, try Guangzhou and Zhuhai. Cheaper and better air. Zhuhai is kind of dirty but it is alot cheaper

Much cheaper and cleaner would be Nanjing - i love nanjing its got everything i need and in no way feels threatening or eerie like some of the megacities do. the 1912 area is great for western bars and restarunts, some great historical sights to visit, easy to get around the country from there - yeah its pretty sweet

Cheaper and cleaner, probably one of the smaller coastal cities like Xiamen, Quanzhou, Qingdao, Dalian. Or inland, Dali, Yangshuo, Kunming. Many beautiful spots along the Grand Canal, smaller cities like Zhouzhuang. Not much to do in terms of party scene, but really different from the urban life.
