San Francisco. No wait! Los Angeles! Oh damn. Sorry, I'm cr*p at Geography.

A cheaper place would be in Wuhan, Dalian......however, for southern part of China, try Guangzhou and Zhuhai. Cheaper and better air. Zhuhai is kind of dirty but it is alot cheaper
4 :
Much cheaper and cleaner would be Nanjing - i love nanjing its got everything i need and in no way feels threatening or eerie like some of the megacities do. the 1912 area is great for western bars and restarunts, some great historical sights to visit, easy to get around the country from there - yeah its pretty sweet
5 :
Cheaper and cleaner, probably one of the smaller coastal cities like Xiamen, Quanzhou, Qingdao, Dalian. Or inland, Dali, Yangshuo, Kunming. Many beautiful spots along the Grand Canal, smaller cities like Zhouzhuang. Not much to do in terms of party scene, but really different from the urban life.

Try Zhongshan
7 :
he bei or harbin

I think Hangzhou is a nice place, with cleaner air and friendly people. http://travelerfolio.com/places/china/hangzhou/
9 :
Qing Dao
10 :
Hangzhou and Xiamen are rated cleanest and safest palces to live in China and living costs are low there as well
11 :
Yunnan province, it has stunning natural views, many minority groups, unique culture and low cost of living, slow pace.

Shanghai-Pudong

Dalian, Clean City, Friendly people and cleaner air. Close to Manchuria. QingDao. Same reason as above except it is not close to Manchuria.

I do not really eat much. When I came here I really did not eat much and over the past 3 months i lost a lot of weight. However, for some reason, I cannot lose anymore weight. I feel the same for the past weeks to a month.

Well if you weren't eating much you probably lost a lot of muscle, which is key component for losing weight, since you were lacking a lot of the nutrients needed. Adopt better eating habits and start strength training.

I am a 'foreigner' living in the UK, born in the UK, I have never been to China. Your question needs to be re phrased a bit. I think I have a bit of an idea about what you are asking. Let me start with my side of the story, as a complete outsider. I have always admired China, and it's people, even and maybe especially going back to the times of Mao Testing. The question you are asking here is very controversial. I think it would be fair to say that most folk in the West think immediately of China and link it with Communism. We in the West have been taught that Communism is a dirty word, or most of us have, not all! My thoughts? I am proud of what the Chinese people have achieved, not just the Olympics, but throughout history. I am not Nationalistic at all. I do agree the Chinese are very patriotic, and good luck to them. We have many problems in the world, and we people could well do without all the propaganda going about. For example, I am an avid watcher of 'About China' a TV show on every day, I really enjoy it, however it is full of propaganda , not anti West, but certainly not all the truth. The West also pump out loads of lies about China. It would be very nice if we the people could make up our own minds without all this poison being spread. Good luck for the rest of the olymipcs.

Well if you heard about the coach's relatives being killed by some chinese person well that's what they think about americans the chinese are kind people but in kind people there is always a bad side in them. I'm also a chinese person but i live in america and for the Olympics I'm also rooting for the americans and so are my parents.
