I need to hurry and choose which language to focus on in college. I love both languages and colleges, please help me know which people are more accepting of Americans, funner, safe, ect.... Which language offers more media shows and funner music, ect... Which language is more useful in business, and in general...

For business I would have to say Chinese, but personally I'd rather learn japanese.

The truth is that neither are accepting to Americans. It's not like they will hate you, but in general, you won't be accepted into society like you would be in the UK. If you're in it for the money, then I would choose Japanese. There are more jobs for Japanese translators than Chinese, and I'm pretty sure they pay better too.

I would go to Japan. Japan is more green, more American, democratic, and has alot less people

Life in Japan is cleaner and more modern than in China. Both places have high density, so you won't have much space to yourself. Everything is expensive in Japan, but the cheaper food you find in China is not always safe. Chinese is more simple in structure and grammar than Japanese and you don't have to learn the separate honorific set of phrases that they use in Japan. Both languages use Chinese characters, but Chinese uses more. As far as being accepted, I have experienced great kindness from both cultures, but I am still a form of entertainment to them. As China has many more people, chances are learning Chinese would help your business career, but as more Chinese speak English better than most Japanese people, you would always have a teaching job in Japan.

For study in college, China would be a better choice. Japanese culture and language source form China. For jobs opportunity, China is now one of the country with least impact of financial crisis. For environment of place, each section of China offer more features for your different needs. Fore example, if you are tired of the people density of Beijing or Shanghai, you can go to Suzhou, Hangzhou, Gulin and more nice cities.
